Human rRNA-tRNA riboPOOL for ribosome profiling
The Human rRNA-tRNA Ribo-Seq riboPOOL is designed to efficiently deplete ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and transfer RNA (tRNA) from human during Ribo-Seq sample preparation.
Depletion with Ribo-Seq riboPOOLs can be readily integrated into Ribo-Seq workflows without the need of modifications to established protocols.
The Human rRNA-tRNA riboPOOL covers the following sequences:
Sequence | Type | Covered |
---|---|---|
28S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
18S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
5.8S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
5S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
16S rRNA | Mitochondrial | No |
12S rRNA | Mitochondrial | No |
Transfer RNAs (tRNAs) are essential molecules in human cells that play a critical role in translating genetic information into proteins. These small RNA molecules function as adaptors, matching specific amino acids to their corresponding codons on messenger RNA (mRNA) during protein synthesis.
Depletion of transfer RNA (tRNAs)
Transfer RNAs (tRNAs) can also constitute a significant fraction of Ribo-Seq samples, and are often the most abundant RNAs after ribodepletion. Therefore it is often beneficial to deplete tRNAs alongside rRNAs. The Human tRNA and Mouse tRNA riboPOOLs have been developed to deplete tRNAs from Ribo-Seq samples and further enrich for RPFs in Ribo-Seq samples. The tRNA riboPOOLs can be direclty mixed with any Ribo-Seq riboPOOL, allowing for rapid simoultaneous depletion of both rRNA and tRNAs.
