Pan-Archaea riboPOOL
The Pan-Archaea riboPOOL is designed to efficiently remove ribosomal RNA (rRNA) from Archaea RNA samples. The product is compatible with most downstream applications, including different next generation sequencing workflows (both short and long-read sequencing).
The Pan-Archaea riboPOOL is optimized for high-quality and intact (RIN > 7) RNA samples.
The Pan-Archaea riboPOOL covers the following sequences:
Sequence | Type | Covered |
---|---|---|
23S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
16S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
5S rRNA | Cytosolic | Yes |
Some archaea, like certain extremophiles, are used in biotechnology for applications such as bioremediation, enzyme production, and biofuel development. For example, Haloferax volcanii's ability to metabolize various carbon sources and produce hydrogen gas makes it valuable for bioenergy applications.
The Pan-Archaea riboPOOL was designed using the rRNA sequences from these species as templates:
Haloferax volcanii
Ignicoccus hospitalis
Methanocaldococcus jannaschii
Methanosarcina mazei
Pyrococcus furiosus
Saccharolobus solfataricus
Sulfolobus acidocaldarius
Benefits of using riboPOOLs for multiple species rRNA depletion
- Enzyme-free, fast & easy workflow
- Compatible with most downstream applications
- Wide range of input RNA amounts
- Possibility of combining with other riboPOOLs
- Compatible with lab automated workflows
Pan-Archaea Taxonomic Coverage
The Pan-Archaea riboPOOL is designed for efficient ribodepletion across Archaea. Pan-Archaea riboPOOL probes have been mapped against rRNA sequences of more than 350 Archaea species to ensure uniform coverage across the group.
